America’s Rose Garden to host a pruning party February 18


Shreveport, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – America has an official rose garden and you are invited to help prune the roses on February 18th from 8am to 5pm. Because they are trained by Master Rosarians.

All you need to bring is yourself, a set of garden gloves and a pair of pruning shears. Groups and service organizations are most welcome to help keep America’s Rose Gardens glorious.

America’s Rose Garden has more than 7,000 rose bushes, including 400 varieties, and is located at 8877 Jefferson Page Road in Shreveport, Louisiana. This non-profit organization works to promote the beauty, culture and preservation of roses.

The American Rose Society is open April 1-October 31, 9 AM-5 PM Monday-Saturday and 1-5 PM Sunday.

However, the pruning party will only be on February 18th.

Admission to the rose garden is typically $20 per family or $5 per person.

In addition to hundreds of varieties of roses, there are also water features, playgrounds, picnic areas and sculptures on site.
