Attempted murder charge after Olive Garden shooting: SC cops


A Lexington County man was recently charged with multiple crimes after another man was shot in the parking lot of an Olive Garden restaurant, according to South Carolina officials.

Brandon Benjamin arrested Colombian police said late Monday night after the Dec. 23 shooting at the Olive Garden Italian Kitchen on Harbison Boulevard. A popular shopping area between He 103 exit and St Andrews Road on Interstate 26, densely populated with shopping malls and restaurant retail outlets.

The 31-year-old Gaston resident was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon in a violent crime, according to Richland County Court records.

Benjamin is suspected of shooting a male friend of a female acquaintance in the arm, police said.

Benjamin was arrested on December 23 and bail was set at $250,000, according to court records. He is being held at the Lexington County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court again on February 2nd.
