Billy Joel Friday night, back in New York’s Madison Square Garden, rolling stone He reports taking some time out of his residence to pay tribute to the deceased Jeff Beck He died on Tuesday at the age of 78.
“He was a musician I’ve always loved. He was awesome. Jeff Beck just passed away…” Joel told the audience at the 86th MSG show. “It never dawned on me without Jeff doing something.”
Billy then performed “People Get Ready”, a track recorded with Beck. rod stewart For Beck’s 1985 album, flash.
He paid tribute to Beck again after the final song of the night, “You May Be Right”. The Jeff Beck Group 1972 self-titled third album. Billy said, “We should have rehearsed this today.”
Following Beck’s passing, Billy took to social media to pay tribute to him, calling him “one of my heroes” and saying: How much I admired his musical skills. This is the end of an era. ”
