Billy Joel has canceled his final Madison Square Garden show for 2023 due to illness.
The ‘Piano Man’ crooner has performed regularly since starting his first residency at MSG in New York in 2014. Since then he has given a concert at his MSG once a month.
The show, which was scheduled to take place on December 19, 2022, would have been Joel’s 86th monthly show and 132nd show at Madison Square Garden. The December show would have been the last of the year.

Joel announced the news of the show’s cancellation on Twitter on Sunday, saying it was due to a “viral infection”.

The “Uptown Girl” singer also expressed sadness at announcing the cancellation so close to the show’s date.
