Brevard County, FL — An elementary school in Brevard County will undergo a major renovation by rebuilding and remodeling portions of its school grounds.

On Saturday, the Brevard County School District teamed up with the Hope Depot Foundation to revitalize Imperial Estates Elementary School, a Title I school in Titusville.

Dozens of volunteers helped restore the school’s entrance and outdoor courtyard, which houses more than 600 students.

Volunteers also installed a new butterfly garden.

“Imperial Estate is over 50 years old and our school is in need of renovation. It’s about providing a school that our students and staff can be proud of,” said 5th grade teacher Alan Bryant.

Other projects included building new seating, landscaping and painting to create spaces for students to enjoy activities outside the classroom, according to the news release.
