The Khalsa Garden Club of Marco Island recently announced an annual scholarship program for high school seniors graduating this year.
The club will award a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior living on Marco Island. Students can attend high school at the local high school.
To qualify, students must have a higher education in botany, conservation, ecology, forestry, horticulture, landscape design or architecture, marine biology, urban planning, public health, science, education, non-profit organizations or law, or a related field. Must be educated.
Scholarship applications are available from Marian Foley by email at jjmfoley@aol.com and are available on the Calusa Garden Club website at calusa.org.
The deadline for scholarship applications is February 24th.

Columbiettes Hosts Treasures in the Trunk Sale
On Saturday, February 24, from 8am to noon, San Marco Colombiette will host a Treasures in the Trunk sale and fundraiser in the parking lot of the San Marco Parish Center (851 San Marco Rd., Marco Island).
Vendors should be set up by 7:30 am. Shoppers are available from 8am.
This is your opportunity to sell new, used or antique treasures from your car trunk. The cost is $20 per car park plus an additional $10 to rent a table in the back of the vehicle.
Vendors may purchase multiple spots if they wish. All unsold items must be removed by the vendor.
Snacks and homemade baked goods are available for purchase. The 50/50 draw will take place at 11am. You do not need to be present at the lottery.
