I’ve been sober for 18 years, but I always try to stay on the front lines and not settle for the status quo. I try to help people who struggle with drug addiction redirect their energy to something positive like exercise, running, fitness. It should be part of your daily life as long as it exists.
Growing a community is like a garden. May the soil, year after year, continue to add and take care of it, and eventually the soil will be really healthy, and animals and insects will come and make this garden rich and harmonious. Connecting with others and putting yourself out there can open up whole lives you never dreamed of.
sage brown An Oregon-based photographer, his work explores concepts of place, identity, and the relationship between humans and the natural world. He is most often seen trail running with his canine best friend.
