The Eastern Rhode Island Nature Preserve requires three organizations—urban, suburban, or rural—to install and maintain a community garden or high tunnel for a minimum of 18 months (garden) or 36 months (high tunnel). I’m here.
This project is funded by an agreement between the RI State Conservation Committee (RISCC) and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA NRCS). Up to $8,411 is available to fund each proposed project. Funds can be used for items such as tools, soil, seeds, fertilizers, soil additives, irrigation materials, gardening materials, timber, tall tunnels and pollinating plants. The funds cannot be used to maintain existing gardens, but to create new garden beds where other gardens already exist.

Proposals from new applicants will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis from Friday 31 January 2023 to Friday 31 March 2023. The district will seek to fund his three projects of up to $8,411 per project. Projects under $8,000 are not considered.
