BANGOR, Michigan — Firefighters battled a fire at a Van Buren County business site early Saturday morning.
At approximately 4:45 am, we received a call that a fire had broken out at the Arlington Trading Post in Bangor.
Tom Renner of the South Haven Emergency Services Authority says Bangor police officers on patrol first spotted the raging flames emanating from the building.
Fire officials say the front roof of the building collapsed by the time the crew arrived on the scene.
Several Van Buren County crew members were dispatched to the scene and remained there hours later.
The Arlington Trading Post’s Facebook page shows that the business is a unique store featuring metal garden art and windmills.
East of Bangor, M-43 was closed for several hours while the crew worked on the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
