Free classes offer tips on pollinator gardens and pruning

Plan a pollinator garden with native plants

Master Gardener Suzanne Clark will be speaking the Monday before the Petaluma Garden Club, providing insight into the use of native plants in pollinator gardens.

Clark, the club’s former president, was involved in creating the club’s habitat gardens in Wickersham Park, where the group received a Community Impact Award from the Club of California in 2022.

The meeting is public. Registration will take place at 9:30 am at the Veterans Memorial Building at 1094 Petaluma Blvd. S.

Santa Rosa

Learn to prune roses from an expert

Master Rosarian of the Redwood Empire Rose Society will host a workshop on proper rose pruning techniques on Saturday. They provide helpful tips and advice on winter rose care, as well as recommendations on the best tools for pruning safely and accurately. 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 2050 Yulupa Ave., Santa Rosa.
