Garden Club celebrating art, music, community, and more with ‘Books in Bloom’ event — The Hull Times

With the encouragement and help of Diane Costa Riola, Director of the Hull Public Library, the club will celebrate “Books in Bloom” at the library for four days from Thursday, January 19th through Monday, January 23rd.

The library will be filled with flowers as the Hull Garden Club and other community groups interpret the books through floral designs. Many events are planned and all are free.

HGC wanted to reach out to other members of the community to participate in this event and share the excitement. The following groups will participate in the arrangement: Hull Library Book Club, Council on Aging Staff, Hull Lifesaving Museum Staff, Hull Village Association, Friends of the Hull Public Library, and Barbara’s Book Club. The arrangement will be on display from noon Thursday, January 19 through Monday, January 23, during regular library hours, and during a special Friday night event.

HGC sponsored a Council on Aging class and created over 100 bookmarks for seniors to contribute to the Books in Bloom event.

Hull Artists Share Beautiful Artwork. The collection centers around a garden theme that promises to be the gallery’s diverse and colorful display.

There are Friday morning garden-themed story times for preschoolers and Saturday art classes for elementary schoolers. Sign up at the library for art classes.

You will have the opportunity to meet the arranger and ask questions on Thursdays from 5-7pm. There will be a special reception on Friday evening from 5:30 to 8:00 with the music of Hull’s own talented Ann Walsh, Ned his Morse and Skip his Tull. Friends of the Hull Public Library will provide refreshments. Lots of raffles, etc.

Hull Garden Club wants to give back. Mark your calendars for this great community event.
