QUILCENE — The Quilcene-Brinnon Garden Club recently donated $3,650 to eight local organizations.
The club used the funds raised from Memorial Day plant sales to support organizations that make communities safer and healthier.
Recipients are:
• $500 in-kind gift for warehouse and trailer maintenance.
• $500 for scholarships, $500 for next year’s graduates.
• Kirsen Community Center, $350 for stove/oven replacement.
• Quilcene Fire Rescue, $500 for CPR manikins and defibrillators for community training.
• $500 for Center Valley Animal Rescue, Sterilization/Sterilization Clinic.
• Brinon Fire Department, $500 for CPR classes.
• Weekend Nutrition Program, $500 for weekend food packets for local school children.
• $300 for landscaping plants at Quilcene Historical Museum, Worthington Park.
The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 1:00 pm at the Kilsen Community Center on US Highway 101 294952.
