Garden Club Appreciation Supporters
Editor, The Gettysburg Times,
Thank you to the extended Gettysburg community for participating in the Gettysburg Garden Club’s annual Green Sale on December 3rd.
We also thank Musselmans, Kelco Industries, Hundredfold Farms, Middle Creek Nursery, and everyone in the newspaper who responded to our request to donate vegetables. Thanks to Geoff Wade, Sara Rohr, Charlie Skopic, Adam Martin, Kathy Evans, Dennis Bear, Sue Cipperly, Nancy Cook, Mindy Johnson and many others for bringing greens from their properties. I’m here. Arrangements and wreaths cannot be created without a variety of greens.
Don’t forget the 50+ club members. A lot of it, from the day after Thanksgiving until he had everything put away on December 3rd, he worked eight days to put on this event. From cutting branches off trees, to the workshop tables where magic happens, to our sales days, it’s amazing to see the changes that occur during the week.
Proceeds from this event will be used to provide scholarships to college students majoring in plant-based/horticulture to support planting at Gettysburg Square. That’s why gifts purchased in our sales can be returned every spring, summer, fall and winter.
