This is done in a different way than previous scioning/grafting events and unlike other Orange County chapters in the past. The event encourages you to bring in anything garden-related, from cuttings to seeds to unwanted pots, books, and tools. As for the missing items, please keep them to a minimum so that others can get something too.
We provide 5 pots of 2.75 gallons per person. In one of them he fills with quality potting soil consisting of sandy loam, peat moss, pumice and humus. Do not use more than one pot of soil as quantities are limited and should be available to everyone.
We also offer white food grade buckets with lids in sizes 2 to 3 gallons. Limited to 1 per group.
I have some seed packets to distribute.
Scion wood/harvesting can be brought in at the Farm Food Lab in Irvine at the Frank’s Lake Forest address the day before the event or at 8:30 AM on the day of the event. trees, and they are prepared before the event. Note – Regarding the location of the event, some members noted that the park is so large that it can be difficult to find with mapping software. That’s why… I drove the car from various directions while taking videos of how to get there from various directions. We have posted it on our website for your convenience. )

From 12:00, I will briefly explain how to graft avocado seedlings.

Have the avocado seedlings we provide grafted. There are mentor transplanters who answer questions and critique the transplant method. Our goal is to increase the practical knowledge of our transplant members.
Prior to the event, we will also release a video explaining the issues to expect when porting. This allows more people to prepare in advance and make better use of the instructions.if you

Graft mentors get 3 to 5 gallons of worm castings.
A large crowd is expected for the event.
Participants are asked to provide scions/cuttings of known varieties. Please no citrus cuttings (citrus is in quarantine due to a disease that kills citrus trees. More information will be provided to those who have registered as we get closer to the time.
We recommend putting it in your calendar. This is a great opportunity to meet people who are interested in gardening.
