Hilton Garden Inn Could Be Coming to Downtown Cheyenne

Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins says a longtime dream of building a large downtown hotel could come true.

Collins said in a column in the Mayor’s Minutes on Friday that a hotel group in Nebraska has acquired a property downtown and is making preparations to build a Hilton Garden Inn.

“Having more than 100 people in our downtown every night really helps support Cheyenne’s economy,” he said.

Collins said last February that the group was looking to build a 120-room luxury hotel on the corner of West 17th Street and Pioneer Avenue, just north of the Rib & Chop House, but city spokeswoman Kathleen Rice said. says it’s her understanding. “Some of the people who were partners at the time pulled out of the plan.”

“I don’t know if the Nebraska gentlemen are the same people who own the Rib & Chop property,” she told KGAB Radio.

Cheyenne has a Hilton hotel, but Laramie and Casper are the only cities in the state with Hilton Garden Inns.
