Iris Garden Tour planned for Joplin Sesquicentennial – Newstalk KZRG

The Joplin Celebrations Commission is planning a citywide tour of Iris Gardens on May 13 as an official event to celebrate Joplin’s 150th birthday.

Maps have been created to show where irises can be found around the city.

The iris is the city flower of Joplin.

If you have an Iris Bed that can be seen from the street or sidewalk and would like your home or business address to appear on the tour map, please email the address and a brief description from the city. Bed/Garden Location: info@celebratejoplin.com

Your self-paced tour begins at the Joplin History & Mineral Museum in Schifferdecker Park.

It will take place on Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday, May 13, from 10am to 2pm.
