Samuel is disabled and became homeless in 2019. With the help of the Permanent Supportive Housing Program, he settled into a new rental home.
His patio chair was recently given away, so he needs a new sturdy patio chair. You also need shelves to organize and store your personal belongings. Samuel is a kind and quiet person who enjoys listening to the daily news and church sermons on his laptop.
Leading up to Christmas Eve, The Garden Island will be sharing daily front page stories about families and individuals (who won’t use their real names) in hardship, hoping anyone can help in a little way.
The Christmas Fund is a way for everyone to provide that assistance. Donations will be used by Zonta Her Club members to purchase gift certificates, which will be distributed to families and individuals through social service agencies.
Each donation is accounted for and recorded. There are no administration fees and the money goes directly to providing Christmas gifts and groceries to those in need.
If you plan to hold a fundraiser for the Christmas Fund, please let us know. spread the word. Anyone who donates $200 or more can have their photo posted on her TGI.
Donations can be made through the Zonta-Kaua’i.org website or by check to the Zonta Club of Kauai Foundation, PO Box 3032, Lihu’e, HI 96766.
