Lady Coyotes Fall To Garden County, Rout Banner County


Potter-Dix’s Lady Coyote Girls Basketball team had a tough battle in the first round of the MAC tournament last Monday, dropping Garden County 33-27 by 6 points. The game started close as both teams played tough defense while the Lady Coyotes had a few shots and were able to take an 11-8 lead in the first period. The Potter-Dix struggled on offense in the second period, with the Garden County girls extending their lead to 17–13 at the halftime break.

In the second half, Garden County put up a tough defense and pulled away in the third period, while the Lady Coyotes tried to hit back in the fourth quarter. However, the Lady Eagles scored enough to keep the Potter Dicks in check and won 33-27. Junior Madison Williamson led the Potter-Dix scoring lead in a 13-point loss.

Potter-Dix advanced to the consolation bracket, where they faced a winnerless Banner County team on Saturday morning. It was all Potter-Dix as they opened a 19-0 lead after the first period and a 30-3 lead at the half. The Lady Coyotes limited Banner County to one point in the second half with a 48-4 win.

Potter-Dix moved 4-8 for the season and was scheduled to host Prairie High from New Raymer, Co. on Tuesday.
