COLUMBIA, South Carolina (WOLO) — Columbia Police are releasing an update on the Harbison Boulevard shooting. Brandon Benjamin has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, according to CPD.
Police said Benjamin shot a female friend of an acquaintance who was standing in an Olive Garden parking lot on Harbison Boulevard.
Authorities say the victim was shot in the arm and taken to a hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries from the Dec. 23 altercation.
Police told ABC Columbia News that they were able to interview several people who witnessed the shooting and obtain ballistics at the scene after the shooting, while continuing to search for surveillance video to help identify the perpetrators.
Authorities say Benjamin is being held at the Lexington County Jail.
The motive for the shooting has not been revealed.
