New nonprofit, The Healing Garden, offers holistic events

BELFAST — Healing Gardens, a Midcoast educational non-profit organization, has begun offering a series of free and donation-based healing programs to the public at various locations in the region.

A volunteer-led organization, The Healing Garden was founded in May 2022 by local doctors, nurses, healers, caregivers and therapists. They recognized the need to increase and promote equitable access to alternative and holistic wellness programs.

“In all of our programs, people learn how their hearts and brains communicate with each other, and how this knowledge helps them prepare for, adapt to, and recover from difficult situations and be ready for whatever happens. You will learn more about how it can help you regulate your own emotional state,” said Diana Maria Chapin, President of The Healing Garden, in a press release.

“…Healing Garden educators provide naturally simple tools and techniques that anyone can use to create mental, mental, emotional and physical balance in the body.”

Healing Garden hosts various events each month. “Nourish the Caregivers,” on Thursday, February 9, 6-8pm at the UMaine Hutchinson Center, is an invitation to all medical professionals, healers, therapists, educators, and those who care for others. Open for free. The ‘Tools for Healing and Stress Reduction’ workshop will take place on Saturday, February 18th from 10am to 2pm at the Belfast Free Library on High Street. A healing circle will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Miller Street on Wednesday, February 22nd from 6:30-8:00 PM.
