According to Pantone, the guru of all colors, Viva Magenta is the hot new color of 2023. Specifically Pantone 18-1750. In the garden world, you can’t specifically grow flowers to reach Pantone numbers. But we, gardeners, horticulturists, landscape and container designers, would like to participate. we love this time of year. Viva Magenta is therefore somewhat subjective. That being said, I would first list Super Bena Royale Plum Wine Verbena as his gardening pick of the year.
Before I went out on this limb, so to speak, I asked Google, “Are plums the color magenta?” The results absolutely showed that it is considered the darkest shade of magenta.Home Improvement TV host Bob Vila even posted his Viva Magenta on his website (bobvila.com). We publish articles about He shows his chip card showing the different shades of paint. Both bottoms had a color that matched Superbena Royale Plum Wine perfectly. (Of course Bob doesn’t say that, he just shows it on the card.)
Superbena Royale Plum Wine Verbena is award winning and has been on the market for years. There are so many flowers in the industry that you may not have seen. Last year was the year of color flags in my backyard—orange, red, blue, yellow, and purple colors galore. Oh my god, the Superbena Royale Plum wine stood out like a rare jewel, the color of royalty.
Butterflies first came in March and last in October. I asked myself. How could I have missed this verbena all these years? Of course, the answer is that independent garden centers simply can’t afford enough shelf space when every business has 15 or more of his verbenas, and there are plenty of other petunias.
Super Bena Royale plum wine reaches about 12 inches in height and spreads to 2 feet, hence the name ‘Royal’. In contrast, the Superbena Whiteout and Superbena Stormburst extend 30 to 36 inches in the South. Superbena Royale Plum Wine won the Leader of the Pack – Summer title at the JC Raulston Arboretum exam in North Carolina and says it all you need to know.
Super vena, like Royal Plum Wine, needs well-drained soil and plenty of sun. This is one of the reasons why they are so easy to use with containers. A good lightweight potting mix, by its nature, drains well. Once you’ve prepared your planting bed that way, you’ll have one of the best flowering groundcovers you can buy.
Supervenas need to be in vigorous growth for the loudest flowering performance. This requires knowing them, feeding them occasionally and cutting back to produce new growth. Spreading out tired stems in your garden or hanging them on the rim of your container will rarely give you the performance you expect.
If Superbenas could talk, they would say they were created to grow and bloom. Guy’s Zone 8a home gives perennial performance. Only time will tell if a few inches of rain fell following the recent Arctic blast.
I’ve shoved a container full of verbena into my garage for about 5 days now and they’re all growing well and starting to flower. But even if you have to buy it every year, nothing beats verbena for its performance and ability to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
For me, Superbena Royale Plum Wine could be the poster plant for Viva Magenta. A large Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly is placed on top of it to create a harmonious color of nature. Stay tuned as we plan to collaborate further on this year’s Viva Magenta Color of the Year.
