Pleasant Valley senior Macy Roper and Lanburn senior Briley Merrill had their respective teams scoring all season, but Merrill needed help from his friends as Lanburn won 68-58. .
The Bulldogs finished Class 2A, Area 9 4-0. Roper scored his 30 points with the Raiders. Merrill countered with 34 points for Lanburn, including 17 points in the fourth quarter, to help Lamburn hold off a late charge by the Raiders.

Spring Garden 81, Eider 29: Playing at home on Friday, Spring Garden led Eider 28-11 after the first quarter and held the Hornets to single-digit points in each of the final three periods.
Senior Kaley Kirk’s 28 points were the best for the Panthers. She added seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Ace Austin completed a double-double of 15 points and 11 assists. Austin also blocked eight shots, claimed seven rebounds, and made three steals.

White Plains 41, Piedmont 34: In pursuit of a winning season, the Wildcats beat Piedmont 19-3 in the fourth quarter, surpassing .500 in two games.
Point guard Cooper Martin scored 8 of a game-high 17 in the fourth quarter when he was 5-of-8 at the free-throw line. Martin scored his basket in this match he scored four of his three points. Isabella Higgins was 2-for-3 at the line with 10 points for the Wildcats.
Bretton Moran had two 3-point shots to finish with 9 points as White Plains improved to 10-8.
For Piedmont (13-11), senior Lele Ridley led the scoring with 16 points. She was 6-7 on the line. Point guard Jaycee Glover had two trays and six points on the Bulldogs.
Lanburn 71, Pleasant Valley 63: In a showdown to determine the Class 2A, Area 9 regular season champion, Lanburn’s Jax Stewart put on a show at Pleasant Valley Gym.
Stewart scored 48 points each quarter break by helping the Bulldogs lead. He recorded 9 of his 12 for the team in the second quarter, 7 of 21 in the third quarter, and 14 of 18 in the fourth quarter.
Stewart drilled six 3-point baskets into the first period, going 8-for-13 at the free-throw line. The Bulldogs have guaranteed a sub-regional game in addition to a three-team area tournament.
Hunter Sparks led the Raiders with 21 points and one free throw in 10 baskets. Pleasant Valley will face Woodland in the area tournament opener.

Sachs 56, Weaver 51: Playing at home on Friday, the Wildcats led the Weavers 29-28 at halftime and edged the Bearcats 12-8 in the third quarter.
Tristan Brown scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Weavers. He was 7-8 with Charity Stripes. Guard Anthony Bothwell scored his two 3-point field goals and the Sachs scored his 14 points.
