Accessing a radio isn’t particularly difficult, after all, you just need a device that can tune to radio frequencies, but listening to it outside your local area can be difficult. However, the app allows you to listen to any radio station from any country in the world and has a fun interface.

Radio Garden is available as a web version and also has mobile apps for Android and iOS. Its whole premise is that you can listen to a large number of radio stations in different countries and cities. You’ll see lots of little green dots all over the world, and they’re radio stations you can tune into instantly. No login or subscription required. All you need is a device with internet access, such as a computer or smartphone.

After some tinkering with the Android version, I was able to tune in to stations across the United States, as well as several stations in South America and European countries. As a true test of its global capabilities, I even tuned into a station in the isolated city of Pyongyang, North Korea, and was successful.

Try it out, even if it’s just for fun.
