Sabattus community garden forum set for Jan. 31


SABATTUS — PUBLIC FORUM, COMMUNITY MEMBER CHANGE INITIATIVE: The Community Garden Project is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31st at 6:30 PM at Sabattus Town Hall, 190 Middle Road.

This forum will highlight the results of the Community Needs Assessment conducted in November. News of her Kelli M. Gilzow Stowell of Wales According to her release, residents of Sabattus saw parks and recreation as an opportunity for change.

A call to action explores how you can work to increase engagement and usage as a channel for activation. These efforts surround framework pillars that represent the entire community.

This garden project aims to ignite a conversation organized as a series of workshops to design, develop and implement sustainable community gardens at Sabatus Primary School, 36 No Name Pond Road, Sabatus .

This workshop series facilitates a collective leadership framework with regional partners Maine Environmental Education Association, St. Mary’s Nutrition, ReTreeUs, Regional School Unit 4, and Oak Hill Adult & Community Education.

The organizers aim to recruit volunteers to be part of the project’s steering committee. Volunteers are not only residents of Sabatus, but also members of the Unit 4 Tri community of local schools of interest.
