Semi hauling eggs overturns on I-95 southbound in Palm Beach Gardens


Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. — Two vehicles, including an overturned tractor-trailer, collided in the southbound lane of Interstate 95 in Palm Beach Gardens, causing a major traffic jam Wednesday night.

The accident occurred near the exit of Northlake Boulevard shortly after 4 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Investigators said the driver of the cicada carrying the eggs claimed to have been mutilated by a Ford Edge SUV.

To avoid a collision, the semi-driver swerved and lost control, causing a collision with the Ford Edge.

The FHP said the two drivers were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not life-threatening.

The collision closed all southbound lanes for about two hours.All lanes reopened by 7pm
