TD Garden extends naming rights deal through 2045 – Boston 25 News


Boston — Gardens are forever green. Or at least until 2045.

The extension of the new naming rights agreement ensures that Boston’s sports and entertainment hub will remain ‘TD Garden’ for the foreseeable future. The deal between Delaware North and TD Bank also reaffirms the Bruins’ official bank and Helmet banking company’s position as his sponsor.

The “new” Boston Garden opened in 1995 and was originally called the Fleet Center. In 2005 the arena was renamed TD Bank North Gardens and eventually he was shortened to TD Gardens in 2009.

Leo Salom, President and CEO of TD Bank, said: “I would also like to thank the Delaware North and the Boston Bruins for continuing a relationship that began in 2005 and continues through 2045. I couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for us all.”

The arena recently completed a $100 million renovation that added 50,000 feet of space on every floor and installed new jumbotrons and audio systems.

In addition to the TD Bank logo appearing on Bruins helmets for the next 20 years, the bank will sponsor a variety of hockey initiatives, including youth hockey events and Hockey is for Everyone Night.

“The Boston Bruins are proud to continue our longstanding relationship with TD Bank through 2045,” said Cam Neely, President of the Boston Bruins. “Over the past 16 years, I have seen TD Bank tirelessly serve our community through our support of youth hockey programs, local small businesses, hockey is for everyone initiatives, and our unwavering loyalty to the fans of TD Garden. We have seen the efforts firsthand, below.We look forward to working with TD Bank for many years to come.”

Through this extension, TD Bank is committing over $15 million to community programming to make the arts more accessible and inclusive.
