Step into The Garden on Academy Street in Kingstree and you’ll claim you’re in a historic venue in downtown Charleston. Two-story brick walls and rustic beams scorched by an old fire add to the atmosphere, but the most striking feature is the wrought-iron gate that leads to the walkway. When the Davises opened Downtown Cafe in 2020, they focused on the building next door for al fresco dining only.
