Police are investigating a robbery in Garden Grove on Thursday that stole more than $500,000 in jewelry.
According to a press release, the incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. when the victim was carrying jewelry along Highway 22, just off the Magnolia Avenue off-ramp. When they stopped at the red light at the end of the ramp, a silver van stopped directly in front of them, at which point the three suspects got out of the vehicle.
The suspect smashed the victim’s car’s rear window and took a bag of jewelry worth $560,000.
They returned to their van and fled the area. However, the victim followed suit and crashed into the suspect’s vehicle at the intersection of Magnolia Street and Trask Avenue, at which point the vehicle was disabled and the suspect fled the area.
Police say the suspects are both men in their 30s.
Anyone with additional information was asked to contact authorities at (714) 741-5837.
